Meet 2-year-old Landon and his family. He is such a happy and sweet little boy.
At the hospital they call him the “Little Mayor” because as he walks down the hall—you’ll find him smiling and waving.
Landon was 7 months old when he had numerous upper respiratory issues. One Sunday he was having difficulty breathing. At the hospital emergency room, an x-ray of his chest discovered a mass. More tests determined it was cancer; the tumor was pressing against his heart and lungs—he also had several bone lesions. He was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma stage 4, intermediate risk. After 6 rounds of chemo, that ultimately did not do the job, his status was changed to high risk Neuroblastoma. Eventually, with altered treatment, the main tumor shrunk enough to allow for surgery. Chemo has continued and he is getting ready for a bone marrow transplant. As of this month he has endured 13 rounds of chemo, 25 blood transfusions, 3 surgeries, spent over 95 days in the hospital, 10 bone marrow biopsies, and countless other tests.
It does not come as a shock that Landon has many of the nurses wrapped around his little finger. His favorite thing to do is to ride the four-wheeler with his dad or grandpa. His favorite toys are cars, trucks, and airplanes.
This darling boy is a real life super hero to go through this experience, yet remain so loving and joyful.
