Meet Logan and his family. This 18-month-old boy is battling a devastating disease, but guess what? Below the surface of his medical condition, Logan is absolutely wild for life. He loves Mickey Mouse, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, plays patty cake, peek-a-boo and has a goofy personality. His smile quite literally lights up a room.
Logan has endured so much in his short time here on Earth. He was born with a severe neuromuscular disease called X-linked Myotubular Myopathy, a condition that primarily affects muscles used for movement and respiratory status. This sweet child has a tracheostomy, is vent dependent, fed through a tube, requires a lot of suction due to muscle weakness and not being able to swallow.
Doctors told his parents that he wouldn’t survive more than one year, and they almost lost him in August. But he has proudly surpassed that milestone and only gets stronger ever since using a trach to breathe. His loved ones pray for a cure as most children with MJM do not make it to adulthood.
We send our deepest gratitude to Heather McGinnis from www.heathermcginnisphotography.com for donating her time to talent to capture Logan’s light.
