Mathaus | Texas | Ewing’s Sarcoma

We were heartbroken to learn that Tiny Sparrow Mathuas had passed but did so in the loving arms of his mama and with his loving daddy after a courageous battle with recurrent congenital Ewing’s sarcoma.

While Mathaus is now free of pain, his short life transformed everyone that knew this beautiful and strong little boy – even those that had never met him. As a dear family friend shared about sweet Mathaus, ”his life transformed all of ours. I saw the beauty of a Mothers heart through Jessica, the strong arms of protection of his family through Darrell. The Joy of embracing planting new life and embracing the future with Quenton. The sweet pure love and honesty of a child’s heart from Alana . Friends camped like Angels, and families so strong like an unbroken cord. Our prince Mathaus’s final day was a picture of the Love.”

As Mathaus’s family prepared for his Celebration of Life last weekend, there was a beautiful quote on his support page that we wanted to share with you before we share his Picture of Hope tribute.

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief…and unspeakable love.” ~Washington Irvin

Please surround this family with love and honor Mathaus who was a tender and loving warrior. Rest peacefully sweet Mathaus.

A heartfelt thanks to Kristin J Photography for capturing true and forever love.

What precious children. Prayers for you family through this time. I can never imagine the pain of losing a child. You can see the love in your family through these pictures. May you feel God’s peace & comfort.

I wish I had the perfect words to say, but looking at how beautiful your family is and trying to imagine how heartbroken you all must be right now has left me without words. What a sweet little angel. I am so, so very sorry for your family’s loss.
